PROJECT PROPOSAL
“ A SOCIAL-MEDICAL MODULE OF CARE AND TREATMENT FOR CHILDREN BETWEEN THE
AGES OF 0 AND 15 WHO SUFFER WITH SEVERE DISABILITIES”
The process of reform that Romania is passing through showed the social
needs that the old institutions cannot resolve. This
is why we feel the necessity of developing new services to care for
these needs. The process of the restructuring of the orphanages and health system
leaves outside the protection system a category of children that suffer
with severe disabilities.
(Neurological, severe malformation etc.) They need special care which families cannot provide also social assistance
and counselling, personal hygiene, assisted feeding, special medical
needs and social reintegration.
On analysing the situation over the last few years in Alba County, there are 4 to 10 children each year who are severely disabled. Our Institution intends to create a Social - Medical Module to care for this category of disabled children.
THE PURPOSE:
• To increase the quality of life of the children.
• To increase the possibility of complex intervention for saving them, and if possible, the reintegration into society.
THE BENEFICIARIES:
At present, in our institution, there are 5 children in this situation.

EVALUATION OF THE REFURBISHMENT:
A place has been designated for the module within our institution comprising
of two rooms, a bathroom and a W.C.
The needs for the refurbishment are as follows:
• Electrical and sanitary installations
• Wall and floor tiling
• 6 No. Double glazed exterior windows
• 2 No. Interior sliding doors
• 2 No. Standard doors

The estimate does not include Labour and interior apparatus.
The County Council will support the project with around 20% of the total costs.
The final project with all specifications and the costs in detail plus the contract of partnership will be made after identifying the financial resources.
